#OrJoeCoffee Manual Coffee Grinder Review and Giveaway, Ends TONIGHT!

It is my great please sure to introduce you to OrJoe Coffee and their amazing Manual Coffee Burr Grinder!
The manual coffee grinder is the most useful tool in the coffee lover's kitchen.  It needs no electricity, so it's completely portable. You can take it in the RV, car, boat, camping, and more!  A BIG plus is that you aren't wasting electricity.  This is a hand-crank mill.  It's very green -- environmentally friendly.

It's also versatile and may be used for grinding spices!

It's also an exceptionally elegant piece of functional art.  Who would not want this beautiful grinder as a centerpiece? Simple elegance.

As you can see from the photo above, the OrJoe Coffee Grinder has four separate components. They are easily assembled, broken down for cleaning, and easily re-assembled for it's next use.  I am very pleased with this as I have never had great success with electric grinders.

When I first opened the box, I thought, "This looks complicated".  It isn't!  Within 10 minutes, I had it disassembled, washed, dried, and reassembled! Yes, it's just that easy.

You can set the gear to grind to a fine, medium, or coarse ground.  I set mine to coarse for use in a French Press.  I actually thought it might be difficult to grind the whole coffee beans as I'd never used a manual grinder.  I was wrong. It was not only EASIER that I thought, it was easier than using an electric grinder!

I loved the aroma of the beans as they ground -- it's intoxicating!  I like being able to see the grounds accumulating in the clear glass carafe. It's a complete coffee experience. There is nothing like it.

Is that not beautiful coffee? I will never, ever go back to the electric grinder.  I am spoiled now by this beautiful, amazing manual coffee grinder.

Do you see the rubber banding at the bottom of the carafe? It covers the rim of the carafe's bottom and holds the mill snug so there is no slipping on your counter-top.

To grind, just place the mill on a flat surface, firmly grasp the handle, and turn it clock-wise to grind the coffee.  The ceramic conical burr mill gently grinds (it doesn't shred or hack) the beans.  I use about 1/4 cup of beans to make to two six-ounce cups of coffee in the French Press.  A finer grind will likely give you about 4 cups of brewed coffee.

After a while, you will need to break it down and thoroughly clean it as oils and residue can build up.  I have done a bit of research and discovered that you can use large grain sea salt (or canning salt) or even uncooked brown to clean the burrs.  Just put about 1/2 cup in the mill, set of fine, and grind away the residue!  Add the used salt / rice to your compost heap!

I like a manual grinder. This one has a nice place to load the coffee, it looks large enough without being bulky. Their site looks great, and they have some great products. Since I am a black coffee drinker who uses whole beans, I am very interested. Thanks for sharing, great review!

My eye went straight to their OrJoe Chocolate Espresso Beans! Yum. My electric coffee bean grinder is so loud that I hate to use it in the morning, so this manual one would be ideal! Thanks for featuring it.
