Lightspeed Quick Cabana Tent Review & Giveaway Ends 10/21/11

It's Fall! Finally! Time to grab the gear and get in some camping... some fishing... or just some quiet time out in Nature.

Mike and his buddy, Scottie, do a lot of fishing. Scottie is in a wheelchair and the ability to stay in the shade or out of wind and rain is very important to him. When we were offered the new Quick Cabana from Lightspeed Tents, we were extremely excited!

Quick Cabana:

Lightspeed®‘s compression hub system allows for quick setup and tear down. 3 walled shelter. Great for beaches, parks, and sporting events. Lightweight and easy to carry. UPF 50+. Sand pockets on the outside of the shelter provide stability. Large front porch area. 3 large roll-up windows.

This is quite the amazing little (well, not-so-little) tent! It's incredibly easy and fast to put up and take down. It comfortably holds 4 people (or one wheelchair and two people).

The Quick Cabana is 96 inches long (8 feet) and 54 inches wide (4 1/2 feet). At 48 inches tall (4 feet) -- it nicely accommodates Scottie's chair.

The Quick Cabana also has three large roll-up windows to allow for continuous air flow.

Many of you know that Mike and I host the Clan MacGregor tent at Scottish Games in the area (and try to attend many more). The Lightspeed Tents are perfect for the Games. They offer a shady spot for ourselves and guests as well as shaded spot to place our food items and purchases. I've recommended the tents to other members of the Coastal Scottish Heritage Society!

The Lightspeed Quick Cabana is now available at Sam's Club for an ARV of just $64.00!

Right now, the folks at Lightspeed Tents have offered one of my readers a chance to win their own Quick Cabana -- just follow the directions below for your chance to enter!

Open to USA only, please!

DISCOSURE: I received a Lightspeed Quick Cabana Tent for the purpose of review. I was under no obligation to write this review. I received no monetary compensation. The opinions expressed herein are my own and based on my own use of and experience with the item.

  1. We don't camp much, but do go to a lot of park events where the SPEED SHELTER would be perfect!

  2. My favorite fishing story is the time my sister caught a trout off the top of a dam and we were so excited we screamed and danced around and when we stopped everyone was staring. We still laugh about it today.

  6. my favorite fishing story:
For my 15th birthday my boyfriend took me on a charter fishing trip on the ocean. I was the only girl on the entire boat and ended up catching my limit and every other person's limit because they were all "chumming" over the side.
    It was a blast! haha

  23. This summer was actually the first time in my whole life camping. I'm a city-kid so we never really did outdoorsy things like camping growing up. There were many memories made, and my four-year-old thoroughly enjoyed himself.

  25. We'd likely take the "Ample 8". While we personally don't need a ton of room, it's really nice to have and we can invite people inside without too much trouble.

  26. Not sure if I have a complete favorite. We've had some great experiences and not so great experiences. I guess our first trip was most memorable, though. We had planned a trip to a nice park in the days before the Internet was really popular. I had neglected to check the weather, though. We got there, got set up, and the skies opened up that night. We learned that water-resistant is NOT the same thing as water-proof after I flipped over and put my arm in a puddle. I learned to always check the weather and to water-proof our tents, especially the seams.

  28. We went camping with another couple for 4th of July in the 1000's island regions of NY. We went to Belhurst Castle as well as a lot of other attractions. a few months later our friend was diagnosed with Leukemia and died a short time later. It was one of the last truly happy memories we had of her. We did see her after camping but by then she already had been diagnosed

  45. When we only had 4 kids, we went to Mount Magazine in Arkansas. I had never enjoyed camping so much in my entire life. We were the only ones tent camping, and I could not believe the breathtaking scenery. It was like I had died and gone to heaven. We went on hikes, we went fishing, and we just fell in love with this place. They even had rubble from old homes from people that actually lived and farmed up there 300 years ago, and Indian artifacts from even further back. It was amazing.

  46. I love the Ample 8. We are a family of 8, so that is perfect for us.

  47. My favortie camping story was back in college and we heard noise and looked out of our tent to see racoons peeking around at us. It was close to the ocean and we fell asleep in the cool air to the sounds of the ocean.

  48. A couple of years ago I went to Washington and we camped out over the fourth. It was a great experience because I got to see the ocean for the first time. Plus I got a very bad sunburn from the beach and my face was severely swollen for days (in retrospect I should have went to the hospital) But it was all worth it. And if I would have had one of these tents I could have prevented getting burned like that :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. I like the Ample tent. Even though you're camping I like to have something roomy. But if it was colder I'd go with the Radian.

  50. I remember fishing with my dad as a child and it was always so much fun. I refused to touch the worms (haha!) but we would catch fish all morning long. We threw most of them back, but it felt so great to catch my very first fish!

  70. My favorite camping memory is when we barely got our tent up and a storm came through. It was scary being in a tent with 3 kids while lightening crashed all around us, but I must admit I enjoyed the sound of raindrops hitting the tent. When it was all over, the fresh rain on everything brought the smells in the forest to life. It was awesome :)

  79. My fav time was when a bunch of my friends and I went without listening to the weather report. We thought how great it was to have the entire park to ourselves when we arrived. We then proceeded to set our tents up at the bottom of a large hill. The next morning we were all woken by a rush of water into our tents. Everything was soaked, but we went under the pavilion and had a picnic and had a really good time anyway.

Finally he did call it a night without expressing interest :( when I tried to stand up, I realized that my Doc Martin Boots were completely melted together on the bottoms and I had no shoes. silly!

My first camping trip was when I was about 10 years old. My family went camping at our local state lake. Everything was fine until around sunset when the park ranger came around to let us know that rattlesnakes had been spotted just around the bend from us. My Dad was brave enough to sleep in the tent with the lanterns on. My two brothers, Mom, and me battled over sleeping quarters in our 4-door sedan. Mom ended up sleeping on top of the hood and my oldest brother ended up sleeping on top of the trunk.
