ApparelNBags.com Wholesale Clothing Store Review

As the holidays approach, shopping for clothes gets more and more difficult.  But not if you can buy in bulk and at wholesale prices!

I recently discovered a fantastic on-line shop called apparelnbags.com/.  The selection is amazingly varied. They carry women's, men's and kids clothing in many sizes, styles, and colours.

I chose a new long-sleeved casual dress polo shirt for Mike -- the colour is Cool Grey.

This is the Port Authority K500LS Long Sleeve Silk Touch Polo.  Isn't this a gorgeous shirt? It's silky soft.  I did buy it a bit larger than usual, but Mike wears undershirts in the winter and I wanted to ensure a loose fit.

The shirt is available in Men's sizes XS to 6X and in 10 classic colours.  At $17.58, it's a true bargain.

I also found a fabulous classic cardigan for him to wear when we're out.

Apparel n Bags offers Work WearAthletic WearHead WearInfants apparel, and Bags.  They also offer Silk Screen Printing and Embroidery of most blank items. That's a great idea for Christmas Gatherings, reunions, teams, clubs, and more!

Shipping is available internationally and at extremely reasonable prices.  There is also a 21-day return policy.

For your family's apparel needs, www.apparelnbags.com is your one-stop shop!

You may connect with Apparel n Bags on their website and social media pages:

Freshly Picked Moccasins Review & Giveaway Ends 2/24/14

DISCLOSURE:
I received a pair of moccasins for the purpose of this review.  I received no monetary compensation.  The opinions expressed herein are my own and are based on my own experience with the item(s).

When I was in my mid-20s, I was teaching.  In the Teacher's Lounge one day, I over heard an older woman telling a friend that she'd paid almost $75 for her grandbaby's new shoes.  Incredulous, I asked WHY she would pay that much for shoes that would only be worn for such a short time.

I won't ever forget the look on her face... the look of true, deep love... when she told me, "I won't put my baby in no cheap shoes..."

I understand now. You see, our oldest daughter is expecting our first grandbaby in March. I won't put my baby in cheap shoes, either.

I first saw Freshly Picked Moccasins on another friend's daughter.  I fell right in love with them.  Adorable, cute, colourful -- but most importantly -- well-made of quality 100% Genuine Leather.

When given the opportunity to review them, I was absolutely tickled pink!

I chose the sweet Frosted Rose Limited Edition for my new grandbaby.

Aren't they so adorable? They are so soft to the touch. I love the elastic at the front, making the shoes easy to take on and off.  The soles are soft and durable leather -- they will never hurt our sweet baby's little feet.

I love everything about these finely-made little moccasins.  I know they will protect my grandbaby's feet and keep her snug. And I know that she, like all little girls, will love the colour! So will her sweet Mama!

100% Genuine Leather Moccasins: ARV: $60

Freshly Picked moccasins feature a unique design with elastic at the opening. Our shoes are easy to put on, easy to take off, and most importantly: stay on your child’s foot.
Our soft-soled shoes are made with durable leather and are suitable for infants and toddlers alike. Moccasins fit true to size and are available in children sizes 1 - 10. For sizing inquiries, please see our shoe size chart.
These gorgeous moccs have been featured in Parenting Magazine, IN TOUCH, US weekly, People.com, Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Kourtney and Kim Take New York.

Each item in our shop is hand made and ready to ship.

The moccasins come in a cute drawstring bag with the Freshly Picked logo stamped on it. Makes it so easy to carry and store the moccs when not being worn! There is also a little button pinned to the bag! I like that added touch!

The moccasins come in several colours (frosted and matte), sizes, and even in suede leather! Prices from ARV: $45 to $60.

You may connect with Freshly Picked on their Social Media Pages: @freshlypicked on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram

New Year... New Shoe... New You! Ends 1/5/12

The New Year fast approaches and it's time to treat yourself!

New shoes always seem to make day brighter and the work-load much lighter!

Just ask Mike! He recently received a fantastic pair of shoes from Joya for this review.

Mike, as you know, is a Land Surveyor and he's on his feet for many hours every day -- in every sort of condition and terrain. His feet hurt. So, he was extremely pleased to receive these shoes!

Mike was blessed with Joya's Cruiser Black men's dress and casual wear shoes.

He's been wearing them for several weeks now and, happily, he's no longer complaining of hot, tired feet. In fact, his step is springier now than it has been in many a long year.

The Cruiser absorbs shock and lessens the pressure on the foot as it hits the pavement. Joya Antibacteria Cool technology keeps the foot cool and free from odor.

Joya makes shoes that allow the wearer to enjoy walking again.

From the Website:
The Joya sole is made from two pieces of PU, softer on top and firmer below. Both encapsulated by a very thin and durable film (made by 3M). The softer provides cushioning and the firmer support/stability as the foot strikes. The two combine to provide a cushioned stable rebound effect as you walk.

The world's softest comfort shoes are manufactured using the highest quality materials. Joya's sole is therefore very flexible and barely susceptible to wear. It will take at least four million steps before the high tech material wears out -- this equates to approximately two years of use, but may vary slightly from individual to individual (and based on which surfaces used).

Mike has also worn these shoes on several jobs (those a bit less harsh than most) and has had nothing but praise for their wear and functionality. I will tell you -- he's praying for Joya to start making work boots!  He has only praise for the shoes -- they are the most comfortable shoes he's ever worn and he wears them almost daily.  They are smart and fashionable for dress wear (Church and Kilt!) and versatile enough for casual and work.  Impressive.

***ATTENTION!*** Every 100th person who joins the Joya Shoes Facebook page... also gets a free pair of shoes of their choice!

Joyaloves to connect with their friends and fans -- please join them on their Social Media Pages:
@joya_shoes on Twitter
and on Facebook.

Joya has generously offered THREE (3) of my readers a wonderful Holiday gift --a pair of Joya Shoes of the winners choice!
Is that not the PERFECT way to start the new year?

Open to USA only, one entry per person per household, please.

DISCLOSURE:
I (Mike) received a pair of Joya Venezia shoes for the purpose of this review. I received no monetary compensation. The opinions expressed herein are my own and based on my own use of and experience with the item.

Joya Venezia -- Review and Giveaway (*3 winners*) Ends 12/21/11

My love for the shoes manufactured by Joya is well-known! They are, by far, my favourite shoes.

I've been wearing my Joya Venezia (Grey / Beige) for several months now.

I can't live without them -- they are that good. I wrote a review of the Venezia in July 2011.

The new Venezia in Black is a simply amazing and superbly functional (not to mention attractive) shoe.

It offers a soft, stress-free stride. The arch support is perfect for those of us with high arches. The shoe has a bit larger box for those of us with wide feet, too.

This is a shoe that FITS from the moment you put it on. There was no "breaking-in" period for me. Best of all, the heel fits snugly and there is no rubbing to cause blisters.

How to describe the sensation in your feet, legs, and torso when walking in Joya Shoes? Let's see... cloud... sugar-sand... cotton...

There is so little pressure or stress on your feet. The shock of the foot-strike is so well-absorbed by the shoe's construction. I have literally been on my feet all day and NEVER had my feet or legs hurt. I must tell you -- these shoes have also been a heaven-send for my back, too.

From the website:
*The Joya Sole Technology is a revolution. Our motto is: “Step inside, just walk and enjoy.” Due to the unique construction and technology of the sole, Joya needs no instruction manual as is the case with some other technical footwear brands. One does not need to learn how to walk with Joya -- Joya simply learns how to walk and function with its owner.*

In-Shoe Pressure Mapping:

When compared with rocker sole shoes, normal shoes and athletic shoes, our laboratory findings demonstrate (below) that Joya relieves pressure points and hot spots much more efficiently than these other shoes. Due to its internationally patented Joya Sole Technology, the Joya exhibition (left below) indicates virtually no pressure points at all. Thus further validating Joya’s premium comfort shoe attributes.

The Joya Venezia is very suitable for all day wear. They are quite seriously the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They are made of sturdy, durable materials. There is no breaking-in time required. They fit at once. While they 'hug' the feet, they do not constrict the feet, thus your foot's movement is much freer.
There is no restriction or limit on motion: forward, backward, sideways -- the shoe adapts to you.
I like the sewn-in, moisture-wicking insole. It stays put and the massaging effect is very relaxing and soothing.

I highly reccommend Joya Shoes for all of my friends who walk, play, run, work... whatever! :)

The folks at Joya love to interact with their customers and fans! Please join them on their Social Media Pages:
@joya_shoes on Twitter and at Joya-Shoes on Facebook.

Corso Como BALLASOX: Review & Giveaway CLOSED

CLOSED!

If you're like me, you love nice shoes. But you REALLY love nice, comfortable shoes!

I've run the gamut in my life: The Boot phase, the high-heel phase (remember *Candies*?), sneakers (still), pumps, and flats.
Many I wore just killed my feet and I couldn't wait to take them off.

Over 90% of my Wedding Photos show my shoe-less feet!

So, it's a marvelous thing to have discovered the Ultra-Comfortable Ballasox by Corso Como!

These flats are amazing. Not like other "ballet flats" that I've tried before (and liked).
These are actually made for walking. They have a real sole! Yes! You can really walk and play in these shoes! WOO HOO! A big plus for me!

I was so excited when my gorgeous pair of Festive Red (Oh, how I do love Red shoes!!!) Ballasox arrived!

I put them on and... wow! They are amazing from the moment you first try them on. They are stretchy so that they conform nicely to the shape of your foot. There is a built-in sock to keep your feet snug and cushioned. Best of all, the Ballasox are so flexible. They move with you -- it's almost like NOT wearing shoes at all!

The Ballasox can neatly folded (Yes! They fold!) in a beautiful matching bag. Perfect for carrying in your handbag! Then, they were safely packaged in a little box -- double the protection and just the right size for storing away when not being worn. Another big plus for me!

Corso Como comes in a wide variety: Boots, pumps, platforms, sandals, wedges, and flats in all manner of style, design, and colourway!

You can't go wrong here. There is something for everyone!

Joya vs. MBT Shoes -- a Toe-to-Toe Comparison

I was recently given the very amazing opportunity to review two great athletic shoes in a head-to-head -- or rather Toe-to-Toe – comparison.

I’ve worn the Joya Venezia and the MBT Moja
for well over a week now.

What a truly enlightening experience this has been for me. Literally, two of the best-made shoes in the world. It has been a privilege to experience them.
These shoes are both so well-crafted – it’s not been easy to choose one shoe’s merits over the other.

They are similar in their outer-shell style and design but different in fit, comfort, and functionality. The MBT Moja is a rocker-based technology shoe. It’s designed to encourage better posture and aide in toning the muscles of the calf and leg as you walk. And it does that! It’s the sensation of walking on sugar-sand. I grew up on a beach (Tybee Island, GA) and the soft sugar-sand really gives you a walking workout.

MBTs owe their toning properties to Masai Barefoot Technology (developed by Karl Mueller Sr. father of Karl Mueller Jr. who developed the Joya Shoe!) to cushion the joints, ease foot pain and increase toning. They are the shoe by which all others are judged.

The first day I wore them – I KNEW I’d had a better work out! The next morning, I could FEEL it in every muscle! It’s a good feeling.

From the Website:
*MBT (Masai Barefoot Technology) was born in 1996 when we discovered that natural instability can have positive effects on the human body. We made this discovery by observing the wonderfully agile Masai people walking barefoot on natural, uneven ground. Seeing these people in action made us realize that the human body is simply not designed to walk or stand on the hard, flat surfaces of modern society. So we set out to develop a new kind of footwear, one that would mimic walking on soft, uneven ground. The results have been dramatic and revolutionary. It’s a question of balance.
When walking in MBTs, the ground no longer feels flat and stable, so the body has to compensate and create stability. The key to the function of MBTs is the curved sole construction. Its integrated balancing area requires an active and controlled rolling movement and can help the body to improve balance and posture while standing and walking.*

The Joya Venezia is a shoe built for wearer comfort.
Oh my. It’s like walking on a cloud.
While exhibiting much of the same rocking motion as the Moja, it makes the walking easier due to the extreme comfort of the shoe.
Comfort when walking for pleasure, sport, or exercise is of the utmost importance. Uncomfortable, ill-fitting shoes can often lead to pain, not to mention tired, sweaty feet!
Joya’s internationally patented Joya Sole Technology absorbs shock, reduces stress on joints, aligns the body and spine, and increases muscle activity. When you are comfortable, you are much more willing to exercise – it makes perfect sense!
With the anti-microbial mid-sole developed for Joya Shoes, sweaty feet are a thing of the past. Oh! And the 3D Mesh insoles are sewn-in! This is a welcome relief from the MBT Moja which have a removable insole. While a removable insert is great because it can be washed, it’s also a problem if it gets twisted or scrunched up during wear.

The SPECS on the two shoes are similar:

The Joya Venezia:

Upper: Nubuck Leather/Mesh

Lining: Breathable Mesh

Insole: 3D Mesh

Midsole: Antibacterial Cool

Outsole: Natural Rubber

Sole construction: Active Air Pump

Price: $229.00

********************************************************

The MBT Moja:

Upper: Split Leather

Lining: 3D Mesh

Midsole: Dual Board Shank

Outsole: Athletic SS10

Sole Construction:

Price: $169.99

************************************************************

Now, for my toe-to-toe comparison!

I've worn both shoes for over a week now. The MBT Mojas are just as advertised -- they make you 'think' as you walk. You consciously consider your posture and your balance. You really do walk heel-to-toe.
They are great for the purpose-driven walk-about. You feel the effects the next day, for sure!
The shoes are sturdy and well-built, a bit on the heavy side (even though they are constructed of light-weight materials). They fit snugly and don't 'give' much. They also run a bit to size and, in my opinion, are best fitted in a store. If you order on-line, buy a shoe at least 1/2 size larger.
For me, there was a breaking-in period as well. It took a few days of wearing to get them to fit / conform to my wide foot.
The insoles are removable -- both a pro (they can be washed) and a con (they can and do 'scrunch up' and sometimes move around as you're walking.

The Joya Venezia also live up to the claims -- these are the most comfortable shoes (walking, casual) I've ever worn!
They are lighter than the Moja but just as strongly constructed. The seams are so well-sewn, I foresee no fraying issues.
They fit snug to the foot but offer a bit more 'give' and flexibility than the Mofa.
There was no 'breaking-in' period, either. I put them on, they fit immediately and were comfortable immediately.
Like the Moja, the Venezia runs a bit small. I wear a 6 1/2 to 7 and the Venezia I received are a 7 1/2 (7.5). However, I've been told that the size issue is being addressed.
The insoles are incredible. They are sewn-in, a BIG plus for me, and don't move around, scrunch up, or twist. The insoles also have a mesh center which both wicks away moisture and gently massages the bottom of your foot as you walk. Oh... Heaven!
While the Joya Shoe offers much of the same rocker technology as the MBT, it doesn't require as much concentrated thought to walk in the shoes. You just put them on and... GO!
For me, the sheer comfort of the shoe makes all of the difference: If I'm comfortable, I am more likely to walk longer and farther.

My conclusion:

The MBT Moja:

PROs:
For short, purpose-drived walks (workouts), I like the Moja. It works the muscles of the calf, leg, thigh, and glutes. It makes you concentrate on your posture and form and it's suitable for flat surfaces and forward movement.
The shoes are durable and well-constructed.
There is great arch-support for those of us with high arches.

CONs:
Not suitable for all-day wear. I don't find them secure enough for stairs and side-ways movements (such as sports) are not recommended.
The removable insole is an issue for me -- it tends to twist, move about, and get scrunched up.
I have wide feet and the snug fit is a bit uncomfortable.

The Joya Venezia:

PROs:
Very suitable for all day wear. These are quite seriously the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They are made of sturdy, durable materials. There is no breaking-in time required. They fit at once. While they 'hug' the feet, they do not constrict the feet, thus your foot's movement is much less constricted.
There is no restriction or limit on motion: forward, backward, sideways -- the shoe adapts to you.
I like the sewn-in insole. It stays put and the massaging effect is very relaxing and soothing.

CONs:
There are only a few cons. I wish there were a bit more arch support. I also wish there was just a bit more 'rocker' effect. And last... I really don't like the shoe laces! I know -- that's an odd comment, but it's true. For some reason, these shoe laces will not stay tied!

RESULTS:
For the shorter, work-out walk, I prefer Moja. For the long, leisurely walk, stair-stepping, and everyday athletic endeavour, I much prefer the Venezia!
For me, the Joya Venezia is the clear winner.

When you're comfortable, you can and will do more. It's that simple. When your feet hurt, you just can't give it your all and enjoy it.

With the Venezia, you are walking on air. You will walk farther... and feel better for it. I recommend it. It is, without question or doubt, worth the cost.
You deserve it and your feet deserve it!
This shoe actually encourages you to move -- and that's a benefit I will gladly accept!

CitySlips: Review & Giveaway, CLOSED!

CLOSED!

I wear high heels -- occasionally! I freely admit, a night on the town sends me reeling after a while as my feet hurt.

Let's face it, high heels are built for style, not comfort.

So, it was with great pleasure that I discovered City Slips -- fold-up Ballet Flats! Perfect for Daily and After-Dark wear!

City Slips are designed for comfort but are also fashionable, stylish, and portable! You can carry them everywhere in their very own travel pouch! The pouch is small enough to fit into almost any handbag.

The pouch itself converts into a convenient carrying case for your heels -- and that's a definite plus!

CitySlips offer a “total package” solution to a crippling (literally) problem. Their innovative split-sole structure and comfy elastic backing allow them to fold neatly and securely into a compact carrying case. Once the flats have been removed, the small pouch unzips and expands, becoming a full-size tote bag. Throw those heels inside and enjoy a more comfortable commute home, or another few hours on the dance floor.

City Slips are perfect for Home, Office, Travel, Weddings, Nightclubs, Dancing, Commuting... almost every event and almost everywhere! They also make great gifts for friends, especially Bridal and Baby Showers!

I am so happy with my beautiful Silver City Slips -- They are so comfortable and conform to my feet so well. The split-sole is flexible and allows my feet to move naturally. I love them.

I have several events coming up this Fall and I'll need comfortable Flats because I'll be on my feet for hours. These are the perfect answer for those long nights.

New Balance MULTI-SPORT 851: CLOSED!

CLOSED!

Hello again! It's me, Mike (aka Review Daddy) -- and I'm back with a review of the New Balance Multi-Sport 851.

The New Balance 851 is a lightweight and breathable multi-sport shoe that is positioned to be the “little brother” to the 1520 – slightly less aggressive, but with much of the same technological and visual DNA that make both shoes so versatile. Designed for a variety of terrain and built to handle whatever is thrown its way, the New Balance 851 is the one shoe you’ll need for all of your adventure travel and weekend activities. Composed of high quality leathers, the 851 offers a waterproof suede and a water resistant mesh package. The shoe also features a great technology story complete with ABZORB® cushioning, a Stability Web for lightweight midfoot support, and a high traction outsole offering you the protection and support you need when the action heats up.

I was really excited when my new MO 851 shoes were delivered. I'm a Land Surveyor and I'm on my feet and moving ALL day long. When the Survey doesn't require boots, I prefer lightweight, breathable footwear.

The first day that I wore these shoes, I admit, I wasn't very happy. They seemed a bit tight and the box seemed a bit short. However, I know all shoes have to be "broken in" and I wore them a couple of days later on a survey.

And you know what? They were great. They conformed nicely to the contour of my feet and "gave" a bit in all the right places. Even the box fit better after a few hours of wear.

I'm very happy and very satisfied with these shoes and their performance in the field. New Balance got it right. The shoes are lightweight, but sturdy (i.e they can take a beating!), breathable (very important), and, to my great relief, they are absolutely water-proof.

I was up to my eyeballs in the water and muck and my feet stayed dry. That, my friends, means everything to someone who's out in the woods, swamps, etc. Dry feet are a life-saver. Trust me. I know this.

Will I recommend them? You bet I will! Would I buy them? Absolutely! These are shoes that you can live and work in.

From the Website:

The rugged 851 is a supportive shoe designed to meet the performance needs of the outdoor sports enthusiast; it helps regulate the temperature of your feet and keeps them dry in bad weather and wet trail conditions.
*Stability Web delivers midfoot support and reduces the weight of the shoe

*Ndurance rubber compound for maximum outsole durability

Hi-Tec Multiterra Targa HPi -- REVIEW

A few weeks ago, Liz and I were very blessed to receive the Hi-Tec Multiterra Targa HPi shoes for review.

These shoes are made by the Hi-Tec Shoe Company of Modesto, California.

ABOUT HI-TEC:

Established in 1978, Modesto, CA-based Hi-Tec Sports USA, Inc. pioneered the original lightweight hiking boot.
Today, Hi-Tec Sports USA continues to design and develop authentic outdoor footwear to meet the needs of the ever-evolving outdoor consumer, while Magnum USA, a division of Hi-Tec Sports USA, leads the uniform and work footwear markets.
Hi-Tec Sports USA launched distribution of Golf footwear in 2003.
The privately owned parent company, Hi-Tec Sports, based in the United Kingdom, leads the market in golf, court and outdoor footwear categories.
Hi-Tec Sports distributes in over 70 countries, forming a global footwear enterprise and selling over 10 million pairs of footwear annually.

Liz and I have been living in them wearing them daily. They are just that comfortable!

I admit, however, that Liz has put hers through the ringer while I've been a bit more laid-back in mine!

These shoes are really amazing. They offer support where you need it most, they breathe, they conform well to the shape of your foot, and they are durable.
What more can one ask from a shoe? What more can a parent ask for their child's shoe?

The Targa features:

•Full-grain nubuck and neoprene upper
•ion-mask™ hydrophobic technology
•Stretch cord with locking toggle for secure fit
•TPR windows with thin mesh to keep debris out
•Rubberized toe cap for added protection
•Overlasted construction
•Women's-specific last for superior fit and performance
•Comfort-Tec contoured sock liner
•Compression-molded EVA midsole
•MDT carbon rubber outsole

COMFORT-TEC®Hi-Tec’s three-tiered insole innovation puts extraordinary comfort technology under your feet. Comfort Tec features a moisture-wicking, contoured EVA footbed to cradle and support your foot, while CT Plus adds an odor-fighting Poliyou® mid layer. CT Custom incorporates viscoelastic memory foam for individualized fit and cushioning.
Comfort-Tec

•Moisture-wicking top layer
•Contoured compression-molded EVA cushioning base layer

They are also very stylish -- The colour, Smokey Brown / Taupe / Golden Haze, is subdued and you can wear them with jeans or even nice slacks.

I like them best for their sheer comfort. How nice it is to be able to put on a pair of shoes and be able to stay in them all day for whatever purpose the day brings.

So, how have we put our Hi-Tec Multiterra Targa HPi's to good use?

LIZ: I've spent a lot of time out with my BF on the four-wheeler mud-boggin'. We trampled thru the mud and the fields out past the railroad tracks and back. The Multiterra Targa HPi's were totally cool. I wasn't slipping and falling because the soles have good grip. When I took them off later, my feet weren't all wet. I HATE getting my feet all yucked up, so that was really nice.
When I rinsed the shoes off it didn't take them long to dry out, either. My sneakers take forever to dry naturally, sometimes a couple of days. My Targas dried overnight and I wore them to class next morning.
It's nice to have a shoe that has dual purpose. I can use them whenever and however I want.
If there is anything I don't like about them, it's that it's kinda hard to get on at first because they're tight and there's no 'tongue' to pull on. But that goes away after you've worn them for a while. It's so cool not to have to fight with shoes laces, too. No worrying that they'll come undone and you'll trip all over yourself. I really like these shoes.

Terri: I haven't been mudbogging. :) But I do a lot of standing and walking. So comfort and functionality is everything to me.
You see, I have a very specific pair of shoes for my "weight loss" walks (stop laughing) -- but they're specifically designed to be used for a short period of time per day. So, I need shoes for the rest of my day -- and the Targa fits my every need.
I have high arches -- support is a must. The Targa provides that support.
Like Liz, I appreciate the fact that shoe 'breathes' -- no sweaty feet. My feet don't hurt after wearing them all day. What a relief -- literally.

I haven't been out in the deep mud and muck as Liz has done (I'm an indoorsy kinda gal) but I've managed to take step off of the deep end of the ridges in my front yard. (Not my fault... but I did get Mike's truck stuck in the mud in my own front yard). Liz is right... rinsed the shoes off, set them up to dry and by next morning, I was able to wear them -- no problems.

The Women's Multiterra Targa is available in sizes 5-10 (+ half-sizes) and 11.

I found that if you have a wide foot (and I do), you may need to go up one size. Liz, however, has a fairly narrow (average) foot and the shoes fit her true-to-size.

The Targa is also available in a Men's Version! -- size 7-11 (+ half-sizes) and 13.
