For me, like so many others, it's both.
I host product reviews and giveaways on this blog. I am a Social Media Consultant -- I help others develop their Social Media Pages. You might think I don't need a paper and pen to keep track, but I do. I imagine I'm not in the minority here, either. The planner is bound with a hard plastic spiral binder which allows the book to open and lay flat or fold easily. Certainly an advantage when writing! The planner has a clear cover as well to keep the heavy cardboard paper clean and undamaged.
I've found nothing about this product to dislike. For me, it's perfect. I'll be ordering my 2015 Planner in November!
