Gratitude and Thanksgiving
I am so very thankful that I found and have become a part of the weight loss / healthy lifestyle community. You've all helped me so much more than you can possibly imagine.
Thank you for your comments and your support over the past few months.
I am grateful and thankful for my darling husband, Mike. He is my rock.
I am grateful and thankful for my beautiful daughter, Morgan. She's an amazing young woman and I love her so very much.
I am grateful and thankful that we have a home, food, clothing... we have good health (this flu is just a blip!), and a good business.
We have family and friends.
G-d Bless and keep you all on this Thanksgiving.

WE HAVE A WINNER! (Baconnaise Giveaway!)
Congratulations to Crystal at the Slender Swan blog! She's the winner of my Baconnaise Giveaway! Enjoy it, Crystal!
I have had a fairly blah week. I've felt... off-kilter... since Tuesday. Today, I know why. Mike has a bad cold (praying it isn't the flu) and he's given it to me.
Morgan has Nutcracker rehearsals this afternoon -- and I don't want to go. But, I hate for Mike to take her alone because he feels so bad.
I haven't eaten on plan very much this week -- Not bad, mind you, but just not as 'on plan' as I would've liked. Not going to stress over it. I'm sick and I'm eating what I need to eat.
A moment of silence please for dearly departed UGA VII. The beloved mascot of the University of georgia died a few days ago. He left behind a record of 16 - 7. There was a lovely spray of roses on top the Dawg House at last night's game for him.
I've become addicted to LUNA Bars. If you've never tried them... you should! The Blueberry Bliss is KILLER.
I can't write anymore right now. I've eaten my Strawberry Crumble LUNA Bar and a banana... and I am going back to bed.
Remember to stop by the Slender Swan blog and congratulate Crystal on her win!
See y'all tomorrow!

Everything Tastes Better With Bacon! (GIVEAWAY)

Everything tastes better with Bacon!
So say Justin and Dave, the founders of Baconnaise products.
They’re right, too!
They devised a line of bacon-flavoured products that are delicious!
Just what the bacon-loving doctor ordered. :)
Justin and Dave were kind enough to provide me with some marvelous samples of their products and even kinder to provide a sample package for one lucky reader!
Products include Bacon salt, Baconnaise, Baconpop (Popcorn), and Bacon Ranch Dip / Dressing Mix!
Products include Bacon salt, Baconnaise, Baconpop (Popcorn), and Bacon Ranch Dip / Dressing Mix!

The Bacon Salt is Low-Sodium. It comes in original. Peppered, Hickory, and Natural. I tried the Hickory on home fries, and the Natural on roasted chicken. The taste was incredible – bacon-y (!) yet not too salty at all. I added the Original to popcorn – now, folks, that was amazing -- YUMMY!

Right now, I have ham & beans cooking away on the stove top with a teaspoon of Original Bacon Salt added. The smell is intoxicating.
I used the Baconnaise Light with tuna to make an amazingly delish tuna salad. Loved it.
The Baconnaise has a mild bacon flavor. It’s very creamy and smooth and I’m already planning a grilled cheese and baconnaise sandwich for later.
It’s also great when added to a cup of Greek Yogurt to make dip. Yep, we did that, too!

Ramblings...
We had a busy weekend. Saturday, we were in town all day and that night, Mike and Morgan went to see the Jackson Browne concert. Sunday, it was Nutcracker rehearsals and then the Johnny Mercer 100th Birthday Concert!
Today has been nice and quiet.
I've been sampling some wonderful products over the past few days and you can expect reviews and giveaways in the next few days!
Shall I give you a hint ot two? HHHmmm... do you like bacon? Rice?
LOL! We shall see!
I haven't weighed in this week and probably won't. I'm feeling a bit "off kilter". I don't know why but I'm just not going to worry too much about it. It's just one of those weeks.
Stay tuned... tomorrow promises a giveaway!

Talking it out
The longer I am on the journey, the more I believe that you must talk it out.
By that, I mean that you must share your experiences. Write it down, journal it, blog it... talk about it with friends, relatives, anyone who will lend an ear.
This is not something easily done alone. We need support. We need encouragement. We need feedback and advice. Yes, we even need contructive criticism.
It's the hiding away that's caused many of us to gain this weight. We stopped talking about it. We stopped doing anything about it. We shut down and hid from it.
Those days must come to a stop. We have to learn to admit it, confront it, fight it, and beat it.
Do you read a lot of weight loss / healthy lifestyle blogs? Do you comment on them? Do you offer your support and advice?
Has it helped you to lose weight? Has it motivated and inspired you?
Do you send links to your blog to your friends and family and invite them to cheer you on?
This can be such a lonely undertaking -- losing weight. People who have never experienced being overweight cannot understand the struggle. But they CAN particpate in the journey -- if we let them.
I hope that I am supportive of others on this journey. I hope that my comments are seen as positive, productive, and caring.
We can share the joys and triumphs... offer a shoulder... shed a sympathetic tear. Together, we can succeed.
I wish you all the very best of success on your journey.

*99*
*99*
99 pounds to goal! Sounds like a lot, doesn't it? It is. And it isn't! When I began this journey, I needed to lose 163 pounds. That's an average-sized person. It seemed almost insurmountable to me. It was daunting.
As of 9:00 a.m. this very morning, I am out of the triple digits and in the double digit stage of my journey. 99 pounds.
Still a large number but no longer insurmountable, no longer daunting.
The numbers no longer intimidate me.
You'll notice that I changed my weight-loss ticker to reflect the new numbers. This is something I needed to do. It's not that I don't want to be reminded of how much I did weigh so much as I changed the numbers to reflect how far I have come.
I'll change the ticker again when I've lost 75 pounds. Again when I reach
*one*derland... and so on.
This is something I need to do for myself -- it helps keep me motivated and inspired.
I feel different this morning. I'm not weighed down (pardon the pun!) by
knowing the I had a hundred pounds or more to lose. The number 99 is liberating... I feel unencumbered. I feel free.
Today begins Part Two of my journey -- the part that leads me to *one*derland! I'm just 35 pounds away! I can do this. I will do this.
I will succeed!
Don't forget to enter the Nutridel Giveaway! I'll announce the winner on Friday!

NUTRIDEL COOKIES -- Review and a GIVEAWAY!

The wonderful folks at Nutridel sent me a sampling of their wonderfully delicious cookies and sent a couple of packages for me to share with you!
These cookies come in four wonderful flavours:
Oatmeal, Almond, Pecan, and Flaxseed.
From the Nutridel website:
The brand is a concoction of the words “NUTRItious” and “DELicious”, exactly what our cookies represent. Our products are 100% natural, contain no additives, preservatives, artificial colorings, flavorings or sweeteners of any kind. They are loaded with seeds, grains, nuts, fiber and sweetened with a touch of molasses.
I sampled the Almond and Pecan cookies. Oh, my. What can I say? These thin, round cookies are loaded in flavour. Sweet... but not too sweet and quite filling as well! I ate mine crumbled into yogurt one morning and topped with mashed banana this morning! The crunchiness is amazing!

The cookies weigh in at approx. 59 calories per cookie, just 1 gram of fat, 1 gram of sodium, no cholesterol, zero trans fat, no dairy / egg products, and there are 2 grams of protein and fiber + Omega-3 and anti-oxidants!
Did I mention that they taste fantastic?
Right now, these cookies are only available in stores in California and Oregon but you can order directly from the website.
If you'd like to try a sample pack of these tasty cookies, just leave a comment below telling me HOW you'd like to add them to your food plan!
For extra entries, post a link to the giveaway on your Blog, Twitter, and / or Facebook!
