Walking with a purpose! And... A GIVEAWAY!

There is a reason why I'm walking 3 to 4 miles per day now. I want to walk in two upcoming events: The Talmadge Bridge Run, Walk, or Crawl in December and the Tybee 5K in February of 2010.

Yeah. I know. That's a huge leap from 1 mile a day... but... that's WHY I'm adding miles daily. I WANT to do this!

Will I finish the walk? I don't know. I will try! Either Mike or Morgan will walk with me, I'm sure. Maybe both!

Now, to the GIVEAWAY!

Today is National Love Your Body Day!

In honour of this day, I have a gift to give. I am cross stitching a design that I hope will motivate and inspire everyone on their weight loss journey! THE CONTEST IS FOR A FINISHED PIECE OF NEEDLEWORK -- NOT THE CHART! :)

If you'd like to enter, please leave a comment ( you may have to go to the Main Page of the blog and then scroll down to this post to leave the comment. Blogger just doesn't always co-operate with me!)

For extra entries, Link back to this page from your blog and post a link on Facebook and / or Twitter!

I'll pick a winner on Hallowe'en!

Have a wonderful day and LOVE yourself!

Terri!
I wanted to wish you all the best. I've been following you for a while on FB and you're a big inspiration. Philip is currently on Nutrisystem and doing great on it so I have cut down because I don't cook much other than simple things for James and I. James is picky anyway and eats like a bird so I've cut down and lost a few pounds. Those few pounds have motivated me to focus more on it now! I want to be a skinny girl! For years I wanted long hair, but somehow ended up getting it cut. Yesterday I went to get a haircut and the stylist said I had beautiful long hair...OMG the first time someone said this...now I want someone to tell me I'm skinny. Not emaciated mind you, just fit and thin!

You don't need to add me to the drawing, I just wanted to let you know the inspiration you are when it comes to weight loss, keep it up!

What a great goal! I'm a walker (I've done 3 Breast Cancer 3-Days) and it never ceases to be the best feeling in the world to complete a challenge like that. I have that goal in mind almost every year and it's always motivation to put in some miles. You can totally do it!!

Though I am not asking to be enter for the chart ... I have enough charts of my own to keep me stitching for another 4 or 5 years ... I do want to applaud your determination re your walking program. I just started the Leslie Sansalone program and am using the 1-mile walk for know, though I did purchase the 2 and 4 mile walking dvds, with an eye to the future. Good luck in acheiving your goals.

Hi Georgia,

You're doing fantastic with your walking, what with 4 miles on your last post. I think you'll definitely be traversing the Talmadge in December. Great to have those kinds of goals that are not to far off to keep us on track.

Count me in on the contest. Happy stitching!

Please enter me. I need to be out walking to drop some pounds before it gets too cold to walk but I have just felt so bad lately. Maybe if I had someone to walk with. Who knows? Love in stitches

Hi, I'm new to your blog, fellow Georgian. I love the Savannah area, get down there about once a year for work.

Great Goals on the walks!! I have the same goal, but not a particular one in mind yet. I do plan on walking/running a 5k next year. It is something to strive towards. I have been walking a 1 1/2 to 2 miles a day, today I got up to 3 with hills (on treadmill). I am not dedicated enough to walk outside, with the changes in the weather and ALL the rain we have had lately, I just wouldn't do it, so I joined a gym.

Good luck on your journey.

Great job on the walking! :D

Beautiful cross stitch too - I used to do that when I was little. In fact, I even have a sampler on my wall at home dated 1977, when I was 11!

Have a great weekend!

I saw you on Fit Bottomed Girls and wanted to come say hello! Well done on your goals...I know you'll be able to complete both of those walks. I just did my first 5k (in a nor'easter no less) and was really pleased with how well it went despite the weather. My next goal is to be able to fully run a 5k by Spring. Good luck and please feel free to visit me....http://coffespaz.blogspot.com.

I've been reading your blog for a while now and this is such an inspiration to me. I'm more motivated than ever to shed the 60+ pounds I've packed on in the last 4 years. Best wishes on your walks.

I have recently gotten my SO to start a couch to 5K program. I already run, but I am doing it with him. He intends to do the Jingle Bell Run in early December. Good luck to you - and by the way - love, love love the design - I have the perfect spot for it!
