I was a picky eater as a child and teen – even now to some extent – and it kept me from enjoying many new foods, I’m sure.
When my daughter was a toddler and beginning to eat 'grown-up' foods, my husband and I decided to try to get her taste a bit of everything.
We called it the “One Bite” rule.
She had to take at least one bite of everything – and so did we!
Yep… it led to some very interesting conversation at out table but it’s been very successful! I’ve come to love squash, yogurt, cauliflower, and Japanese food. My daughter, at 17, still takes the one bite rule seriously and has discovered many new foods that she likes, too.
One of the things I’d been hesitant to try were energy / power bars. I just imagined that they tasted like cardboard.
Ah, but they don’t!
I tried the Luna Bars and loved them, ditto the Soy Joy bars. Just recently, I was given several Lara Bars to try and they are marvelous!
Lara Bars were developed by Lara Merriken in 2003 after hiking in the Rockies .
