Dr. Martens -- 2296 Wellington Boot Review

Recently, I was given the opportunity to test out a pair of
Dr. Martens (Doc Martens) 2296 WELLINGTON GAUCHO VOLCANO pull-on, heavy-duty work boots.

I will tell you straight - I am very impressed. As a Land Surveyor, I'm constantly in all types of weather and all types of terrain. Not to mention the mud and the muck I track through daily.

I need a boot that will take me anywhere and everywhere I have to go and provide comfort, safety, and warmth. The 2296 WELLINGTON GAUCHO VOLCANO not only meets my needs but exceeds them. This is a high quality workboot.

I've put these boots through the wringer. They've been in ditches and culverts, gravel pits, and swamps, deep woods and marshes -- no leaks, no tears, no discomfort. They've done all I've asked of them and more.

The Wellington Gaucho Volcano is a part of the Icon collection.

The 2296 Wellington is a heavy-duty boot, built to Perform in the most demanding of environments. Durable Full-grain leather upper, padded ankle locking supports and Hard-wearing slip-resistant outsole Make this Boot a must have. Electrical Hazard rated.

FEATURES:

Upper:
Water-resistant Full-grain Leather, Padded Ankle Locking Support, Double Stitched, Leather Pull Loops

Lining:
Nylon Mesh

Footbed:
Removable Nylon Mesh Covered EVA Footbed

SAF Patented air-cushioned sole, slip-resistant to oil, fat, petrol, and alkali

Full quarter and vamp lining
Patented air cushion sole

and alkili
SAF sole

The boot is very comfortable but it does run a bit narrow and short. I wear a Men's 9 1/2 and would recommend that you buy one (1) size larger and wider-width than your everyday shoe.

Woody Armor Hunting Boots (Muck Boots Online): Review

Not long ago, I was given the chance to try out a pair of Woody Armor® Premium Hunting Boots from Muck Boots Online.

I'm a Land Surveyor and often spend my days mired in mud and muck, in swamps and fields, woodlands, marshes -- you name it, I've been there.
Of course, I need work boots that work with me. The Woody Armor® Premium Hunting Boot fits my needs perfectly. It's a must to have a boot that you can trust not to fail. They have to protect your feet from extreme cold and snake-bites, they must keep your feet dry and they must be durable.

So far, I've worn them in the swamps of Ebenezer Creek -- that's a fresh water creek.
The inside stayed dry until I went in over the tops. When I got back to the truck, I cleaned them by dumping the water out and rinsing them with cold, fresh water.
They dried fast... overnight. Next morning, the boots were clean and dry and ready for Day 2.

Later in the week, I was in knee-deep mud at the canal site. The Woody Armor boots stayed dry -- right up until I hit the ditch and went in up to my thighs.

Mud and gravel filled the inside of the boots. So, when I got back home, I had to literally take the garden hose to them to clean them out.
They cleaned up quick. There was no damage to the inside lining at all. They took a bit longer to dry that time. A full day. But that's fine. Other boots I've had took a lot longer than that and didn't fare nearly as well.

While using these boots, I discovered that the insulation inside does NOT hold odors. Thank Heaven. Nothing is worse than stinky boots.
The insoles are easily removed and fit back in easily. After all that I put them through, there were no changes to the insole -- they held up remarkably well.
Even tramping through the mud, I had great traction. The boots didn't try to "pull off". Stability, traction... all the hallmarks of a darn good work boot.

I'm impressed. I highly recommend these Woody Armor® Premium Hunting Boots for any and all outdoor needs. They aren't just for hunting -- as this Land Surveyor will attest.
